The fifth annual March of the Mermaids will take place on Saturday 15 July 2017. A parade along Brighton seafront to celebrate our seas, sea life and to raise awareness of marine conservation.

March of the Mermaids is not just for mermaids! Mermen, sea mammals, crustaceans, pirates, sailors and all forms of sea life are invited to take part - It's a day out for all the family to take part in.

Meet on Hove Lawns (closest to the Peace Statue) from 2.30pm.
The parade will then commence at 3pm and will end at approx. 4pm at our joint after-party venues on the beach, the Fortune of War and The Tempest Inn. As usual we'll have music and entertainment until the wee hours!

This year we won't be charging a ticket price to take part in the parade or admit entry to our after-party, but we would appreciate if all participants could give a suggested donation of £3. This will help us to cover our costs to make sure the parade can happen again and as usual, any profit made will be donated to a worthy charity which we will be announcing very soon!

Keep checking back here and on our main Facebook page for more announcements.
  2. Less than 8 weeks to go until March of the Mermaids 2016!
We are busy working with the team at ‪#‎WhaleFest‬ to make our event bigger and better than ever!

Join us on Saturday July 23rd for our annual parade along Hove and Brighton seafront, to celebrate our seas and sea life and help us raise funds for the World Cetacean Alliance. The parade will end with a family-friendly after-party at Patterns on Marine Parade, with a DJ set from Sophisticated Mischief and we'll have live music from The Captain's Beard. All the event details can be found here:www.facebook.com/events/924239180993835/

This year we are also following the parade with an official 'Fin'-ale after-party on the same day at the Funfair Club in Brighton, for ages 18+ only, so if you can't make the parade in the day, get your dancing fins on and join us from 9pm-4am. There will be mermaid and tiki burlesque performances from Sirona Thorneycroft and Twisted Nymph Mermaids.
